What is fussy cutting?
Fussy cutting and small projects!
Hiya! I’m Michelle, and I’m a serial crafter. Seriously, I’ll make anything. If I can spend $90 on craft supplies and several hours to make something I could buy for $20, I’ll do it. Create-a-holic, that’s me! The only support groups I’ve found so far are enablers. Wonderful, talented, enablers ;) Since I’ll pretty much make anything at any time, Alicia asked me to share fun stuff with you every week!

Sometimes I like to be a little bit ‘extra’ with my sewing, and I use a fun trick called fussy cutting.

Fussy cutting is when you select a particularly delicious bit of a fabric print to cut out and use for a special spot in your project.
Sometimes it gets gory- you have to cut out the middle of a piece to get the print exactly where you want it. It can be a fabric waster but the results are always worth it!
This cute coin purse I made uses fussy cutting- here’s what I had to do to the fabric to get what I wanted from the print. It hurt me a little bit on the inside but I survived!
