Who loves Canadian makers?
Canadian Makers on Instagram!
It's a new year, and we have some GREAT new things planned for you. We want to tap into the stuff that will get your creative juices flowing, and turn you into a superstar maker extraordinaire!
Today is the first day of our brand new Maker Mondays feature, brought to you by our very own Michelle from Team Dinkydoo!
"Hi, I'm Michelle from Team Dinkydoo!"
Hi, I'm Michelle from Team Dinkydoo - and yes, I made that hat! :)
Confession time- I only follow people on Instagram that make stuff. The point is, I want to be inspired when I scroll through my feed. Seeing what people are making is a constant source of inspiration for me, and really drives my own creativity.
I also love that itâs a platform for pattern designers who self publish on their own blogs, Etsy, and the like. Often their patterns catch fire on Instagram among makers and with good hashtags, you can see things being made with lots of different fabrics!

âA perfect project bag for sewers and knitters alike... â
@Stitchmischief is a multi-talented sewer, knitter, pattern designer. Her Finch bucket is a perfect project bag for sewers and knitters alike - Iâm a fan of having kits ready to go for all kinds of things in my life and this bag just works and is super cute to boot!
When I have a project on the go I keep all the fabrics and any special tools in a bucket then itâs all there when I need it, and I can easily grab it on the way to a sew in or retreat!Â

âA pop-culture junkie with bright, fresh colours.â
@lysaflower is a pop culture junkie and her patterns are ridiculously cool.
Iâve made her Control Freak pattern and Match Needle Book and they were both awesome and well received by the people I gifted them to! I love that she really has her own voice and she uses bright, fresh colours. Lysa will definitely have you looking at the world in a different way- can I make that into a quilt?
âA beautiful essential oils pouch...â
@cpeicheff has an Instagram that will surely make you drool. She is a whirlwind of making, I donât know how she sews so much, so fast! Her Essential oils pouch is functional and beautiful, I made some for my mom and her friends this year and they turned out so well. Iâm a lover of cork fabric and Carla uses it a lot- just the inspiration I need!Â
