Orders are packed and shipped within 1-2 business days. (If you have a lot of 1/4 yard cuts it might take a little extra time!) There may be more of a delay during sales events like Black Friday. If that's the case, or we're out of stock on an item, we'll let you know ASAP!

SHIPPING FAQ

Q: To get  FREE Shipping, is that $149 CAD before tax or after tax?
A: Before tax.

Q: I have both pre-orders and in-stock items on my order. When will they ship?
A: Please refer to our Pre-Order FAQ page for help!

Q: Can I purchase extra insurance? Can I upgrade to a faster shipping method?
A: You bet! Email us at contact@dinkydoo.com and we can discuss those options and get you set up.

Q: I never received my package. It didn't have a tracking number. Now what?
A: We will investigate right away! Our success rate with Canada Post and USPS is over 99.9% so you never have to worry. For small orders, the standard shipping method is used which doesn't provide tracking. We understand it's terrible when mail is lost or stolen, but we are not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged packages. If you have regular issues with poor mail delivery (i.e. the carrier delivers your mail to your neighbours every now and then) or issues with stolen mail (community mailboxes, apartments/condos) we would recommend our Expedited shipping options. Not only is it faster, it's also tracked and insured.

Q: How can I get Expedited delivery then?
A: Every order over 500 grams (1lb) in Canada ships Expedited. Orders under 500 grams are typically 1-4 charm packs, 1 layer cake, or a small amount of yardage. For orders to the US, any orders over 2.2lb are shipped Expedited. 2.2lbs is roughly 8 charm packs, 2 layer cakes, 2 jelly rolls, and a couple yards of fabric. Fat Quarter Bundles are typically 2.2-4.5lbs and almost always ship Expedited for both US and Canada. If you have an order under 500g (Canada) or 2.2lb (US) contact us if you would like to pay extra for Expedited shipping.

Q:  Is Expedited shipping insured?
A: Yes. The default insurance is $100 CAD, but you can contact us to insure your order for more than $100 for an extra charge.

Q:  Are orders packed and shipped the same day?
A: We pride ourselves at getting your orders out the door the same day! However, if the order is past 3PM (PST) it might be too late for that day's pickup. Also, if you have quite a few 1/4 yard cuts it can be very time consuming. which may cause a day or two delay - but we'll do the best we can!

Q: My order took an extra day or two to arrive!
A: Aside from goof ups by the post office or shipping companies, Canadian or US holidays are usually the culprit! Always remember that ordering/shipping around holidays can cause a little extra delay. Please be aware too that packages may be held at your country's customs a day or two before they clear. You may also need to pay additional duty fees, but we find this almost never happens for orders under $250. Also worth noting is that fabric we ship to the U.S is duty free, while notions are typically NOT duty free.

Q: I have a really big order, or live in a super remote location. Seriously, I need a boat/helicopter to get there! Will I have to pay more?
A: Unfortunately yes, but we've yet to run into that situation - we ship to very remote areas all the time without having to charge extra! If your shipping ends up costing a bunch more, we will contact you to see about making up the difference, or explore alternate shipping methods. 

 

POLICIES

Sales Tax

Canada: We charge both GST (5%) and PST (7%) in British Columbia. Alberta, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Quebec, Saskatchewan and Yukon are charged GST (5%) only. New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador and Ontario are charged HST (13%). Prince Edward Island is charged HST (14%). Nova Scotia is charged HST (15%).

United States and International: We do not charge any tax.

We want you to be happy with your order! We do understand that sometimes the fabric you pick isn’t the right match for your quilt or other project. If you aren’t satisfied within the first 30 days after receiving your order, let us know why and we will gladly refund your purchase, minus the shipping cost. Please note the fabric must be unused, smoke and stain free, and will need to be in it’s original packaging before a refund is issued – this is simply so we can resell it again. You must pay the shipping costs to have it sent back to us. Please keep the original packaging to make return shipments easier and more cost effective. Once the returns are inspected and approved, a refund will be issued right away, and will be deposited or credited back to your PayPal account or credit card within 2-5 business days. Mistakes can happen! We are truly sorry if you received an incorrect order, or if the fabric has a defect that we didn’t catch before we sent it. If so, the shipping is on us. Contact us to arrange your return and we’ll get a replacement out for you ASAP.

Privacy

We take your privacy seriously. We will not sell or distribute your personal information to any commercial third parties, except those which are needed to process your order (i.e. PayPal). Our website uses highly secure SSL encryption at checkout to ensure your personal login information, including email, username and passwords are safe. Your credit card information is not stored, and it is fully encrypted on our external payment processing sites (i.e. PayPal) when you pay for your items. Your credit card information is never stored on any of our servers. We are very proactive in ensuring our website and server software is up to date, to avoid any compromise due to hackers or other external threats. 

Our website uses cookies to provide you with an enhanced user experience, such as saving your wishlist and remembering items you’ve previously viewed. We do not have the ability to see other sites you have visited, as our cookies are only used for our site. We do not store or have access to any personal information other than your name, address, email and phone number you use to create your account.Customer information is stored and encrypted on our website and is used by the system to remember your information when placing future orders. If you do not want this information saved, you can use the guest checkout. This is typical for most websites, however if you wish to remain completely cookie free (and give up some functionality) you can do so by installing a program which blocks cookies.
